My Amazing Day with Wedding Connection Members:
The Cutting Edge Milton & Ooh La La Salon & Spa (and why you need to check them out)!
I started my day with an excited jump out of bed.
Today, I am going to spend time with Wedding Connection members Christine at The Cutting Edge Milton and Kris & Franca from Ooh La La inc. This all started quite organically. I’m preparing to get headshots done by Mike Streeter Photography, another Wedding Connection Partner. I happen to handle the Marketing and Social media branding for Wedding Connection and I thought “let’s make this a family affair”! I wanted to experience what a client would experience coming to our vendors. Let me tell you….I HAD THE BEST DAY EVER!!!
I skipped over to The Cutting Edge for 11:45AM appointment time. I arrived at 11:44… Always punctual.
I was warmly greeted by salon owner Sue, salon manager Amanda and my stylist du jour Christine. After a few giggles, I was taken to my chair where we decided on a look. I really sat back and let my stylist suggest the best look for my face shape. Let’s just say, she hit it out of the park! We opted for long, side swept bangs and some layers for my angular bob. Is there anything better than a wash & blowdry? After the wash, cut & blowdry, we decided to go for fun beach waves. I want to bring Christine home with me to do this look every day!
One of the things I really loved was, at the end of the session, she wrote me a prescription for my hair and showed me the products that would help with it. There was no hard sell on hair products, but it was written down to give me the opportunity to make the choice freely.
I realized how important it is to have trust in your team. I was thrilled with the outcome. After Christine, I managed to squeeze in a super quick Vanilla Almond milk latte …YUMMY is all I can say.
From there I dashed down the street quickly for my next appointment with the amazing Kris from Ooh, La, La Inc. I was so excited…Wash, Blow Dry, cut and nails…”Oh my”. Can you say Perfect Day? I think Elle Woods was onto something.
I entered Ooh La La at 12:59 pm for my 1:00 pm appointment… phew! I just made it!
I was taken to my seat in a lovely white leather chair. I was in love with the intimacy of the boutique. Kris quickly examined the gels/shellac on my nails and went right to work. There is a sense of calm in the space. I was immediately relaxed and felt at home. I noticed as clients kept coming in, they knew everyone by name. It felt like I was in the movie Steel Magnolias (which I highly recommend if you haven’t seen it.) We decided on my new colour choice which was Oxblood (OMG, I love this colour, BTW), Kris started hand sculpting my gels. She was quick, efficient and a master at this. I was in awe watching how fast she managed to complete 8 fingers and 2 thumbs. The conversation was light, fun and I had no idea how much time had actually passed.
I looked up and a wall on the shelf was covered in the most beautiful Stella & Dot jewellery. I walked out of there with the most beautiful necklace! Before I left, I couldn’t wait to book my 3 week fill appointment.
I ended my day back at the Wedding Connection studio, where I was able to sit down and appreciate the talent that surrounded me today. The kindness, warmth and expertise I was provided was AMAZING. You definitely need to consider these two Wedding Connection teams when looking for Hair and Nails for your big day. Before I left for the day, I snapped one last pic with one of our Wedding Connection Members; Lesley from Pure Aperture Photography.
I am so thankful to be with such a brilliant team. CHECK THEM OUT!
Go now, you will thank me later.
